The plans provide for 430 new private rooms, a new emergency department, 39 operating theatres and 19 new beds in the state-of-the-art intensive care and coronary care units involving new building or major refurbishmnet of approximately 93,000 sq m.

Environmental sustainability has been considered with respect to building orientation, façade treatment and building fabric. Fresh air systems, rainwater recycling and waste reduction have been planned wherever possible.
