LCI have recently completed Stage 1 of the construction of the new National Measurement Institute Laboratory in Port Melbourne.

Design of the Stage 2 fitout works is ongoing. Stage 2 incorporates a Dimensional Metrology Laboratory requiring extremely close temperature control 20°C± 0.1°C. The laboratory design incorporates a three tier ceiling structure with supply air introduced to the controlled space from a diffusion plenum, ensuring uniform lateral spread, via a membrane diffusion panel ceiling to provide uniform vertical downward laminar flow across the space. Return air is via low level exhaust grilles with hollow wall return air ducts to high level.
